Adobe uses artificial intelligence to build features that work and help users solve their problems.
“Our vision is the computer and the human working together,” said Alex Filipkowski, who works in applied science and machine learning at Adobe. Filipkowski spoke at the 10th Data & AI for Media Week at Microsoft in San Francisco on May 3.

Adobe Sensei — the intelligence layer which fuels Adobe’s stock images content moderation and visual search features — uses computational intelligence, experience intelligence, and content understanding to serve users, make creativity more accessible and reduce time to complete mundane tasks.

With it, users can search for images based on a variety of criteria, including related colors, themes, and organization of images, but it takes time to get it right.

“Neural networks aren’t inherently intelligent,” he said. “They need to be trained, and they need to be trained in really, really robust and meaningful ways.”
